YouTube Comments

YouTube Comments connects your YouTube channel so your agents and AI agent can monitor comments on your videos and reply to them without leaving the platform.

This channel is currently in Beta testing. Don't connect a main, public-facing account — use a test or secondary account until the channel is generally available.

Overview​

Once connected, the platform pulls in top-level comments on your channel's videos along with the replies underneath them. Each comment thread becomes a conversation in the Inbox, grouped under the video it belongs to.

YouTube allows exactly two levels: a top-level comment, and replies to it. There are no deeper branches, so a comment thread is always one top-level comment plus its replies. The commenter's channel name and profile picture appear on each message.

Who it's for​

  • Admins connect the YouTube channel and choose whether a new comment should trigger a flow.
  • Agents read and reply to comment threads from the Inbox.

Connect your YouTube channel​

  1. On the switcher, click Channels.

  2. Click Social, then click YouTube Comments.

  3. Click Connect your YouTube channel. A pop-up opens for Google to authorise the connection.

    Allow pop-ups for the site before you start. If pop-ups are blocked, the platform shows Please allow pop-ups for this site to connect your YouTube channel.

  4. Sign in with the Google account that owns the channel and approve the requested permissions. The pop-up closes on its own and the channel shows the connected Channel and the account it was Connected by.

New comments are picked up roughly once a minute, so a new comment can take up to a minute to appear in the Inbox.

Handle comment threads in the Inbox​

Open the Inbox and select a YouTube conversation.

  • The video overview is the read-only front page for a video. It lists the top-level comments so you can pick the thread to work in, and shows YouTube's reply count for each.
  • A comment thread is the conversation you work in. Open one to see the top-level comment and every reply, including your AI agent's, and to reply yourself.
  • Comments that don't address your channel are still captured so you have the context, but they don't wake your AI agent.

Your reply is posted under the top-level comment, which is the only place YouTube accepts a reply. When you reply as an agent it posts exactly as you typed it — the platform doesn't add an @mention for you.

Trigger a flow on a new comment​

By default a comment arrives as a normal message and your AI agent answers it. If you want a new comment to start a specific flow instead, enable the event.

  1. On the connected YouTube Comments channel, click Events.
  2. Turn on youtubecomment-reply.

The event fires when someone posts a new top-level comment on a video of the connected YouTube channel. Replies inside an existing comment thread do not trigger it — those continue as normal messages.

Disconnect​

Disconnecting removes the channel and revokes the access the platform holds on your Google account. The recurring check for new comments stops at the same time.
