Yellow MCP tool availability

What shipped​

Some Yellow MCP tools are available only on bots that have the matching feature turned on. The gateway now checks this for every bot: on a bot without the feature, those tools are not offered to your AI assistant, and a call to one of them is refused. The first tools behind a gate are the agent function (V3) tools (createV3Function, updateV3Function, runV3Function). They follow the same switch that shows v3 functions in Studio.

Who it's for​

Developers and admins who connect an AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, and others) to Yellow.ai through the Yellow MCP server.

How to use​

  1. Connect your assistant to the Yellow MCP server with a bot selected (chosen when you authorise the connection, or with the x-bot-id header).
  2. List the tools. Tools for features the bot has are listed; tools for features it does not have are not.

A connection with no bot selected does not list gated tools, because there is no bot to check.

When a feature is turned on or off for a bot, the gateway picks up the change within about 15 seconds. Your assistant sees it the next time it lists tools.
